The JCC seeks a Professional Development Instructor. Under the direction of the Director of Career Services, the Professional Development Instructor is responsible for Professional Development curriculum for all aspects of programming. Develops and presents workshop in soft skills that relate to the Construction, Security, Clean Energy, and Tech industries. Assists participants with resume review, interview skills, and other related PD skills and tasks.

The Professional Development Instructor delivers training to help individuals or groups improve their skills and knowledge in the Construction, Security, Clean Energy, and Tech industries. Key responsibilities include designing and delivering engaging training sessions (in-person or virtual), creating instructional materials, assessing learning outcomes through feedback and evaluation, and collaborating with stakeholders to align training with organizational goals. Essential skills for this role include strong communication, instructional design, assessment, and a passion for fostering learning and growth. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with funding requirements, tracking participant progress, and supporting overall program operations through completion. Work seamlessly with the broader CRED team to provide holistic support to all participants.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Present highly engaging and memorable workshops.
- Craft supplementary learning materials.
- Discern students' grasp of the allocated content.
- Perceive academically at-risk students and conceptualizing intervention plans.
- Execute remedial strategies swiftly and discreetly.
- Guide students' thoughtfulness about possible career trajectories.
- Follow up with Career Connection Alumni to enter updated job status
- Accurately input participant information into internal databases and external systems (e.g., funder portals).
- Maintain up-to-date records on participant enrollment, attendance, milestones, credentials, job placements, and outcomes.
- Review data for discrepancies and work with program staff to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Generate reports and summaries to support performance tracking and reporting needs.
- Assist with organizing digital and physical files related to program documentation.
- Support audits and monitoring visits by ensuring timely access to accurate data.
- Uphold confidentiality and data security standards at all times.
- Assist with additional tasks as needed to ensure participants can access the supports needed to sustain themselves while sourcing employment.
OUR REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated possession of skills and personality to forge relationships with CRED target population: under/unemployed adults 18-40, involved in the criminal justice system or impacted by community violence
- Demonstrated ability to encourage the target population’s participation and continuation in the program
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Data Entry
- Experience in communicating with potential funders via letters, emails, and phone calls
- Ability to multitask and work well in a team atmosphere
- Demonstrated cultural competence
- Experience working on a team
- Be a “credible messenger” with strong community connections.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized
- Flexible and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
- Innovative, imaginative, and provide a positive role model for participants and staff.
- Independent judgment, initiative, and advanced administrative skills.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- At least two (2) years of successful and relevant experience.
